????? Review for A1 Locksmith Security and Sales

I want to give a huge shout-out to A1 Locksmith Security and Sales and three amazing employees: Jamal, Ken, and David. These guys showed real honesty and integrity, which is rare these days.

I had been going to different Ford dealerships trying to replace my car keys because the casing kept breaking. The dealership charged me $150 per key ($300 total) the first time and told me I had to reprogram new keys every time.

When my keys broke again, I went to A1 Locksmith, and Jamal and Ken explained something the dealership never mentioned. They told me I could simply buy a new key casing from Amazon for about $7.95 and reuse the programmed chip that was already inside my key. That meant I didn’t need to reprogram anything.

I came back with the new casings, and David helped me out. He took the chip from my old keys, placed it into the new casing, and simply made a new metal key blade. That was it!

Instead of paying another $300 at the dealership, I paid about $21 total for two keys.

That means they saved me around $280.

What impressed me most was their honesty. They easily could have charged more, but instead they told me the simplest and cheapest way to fix the problem.

David even had a great sense of humor while helping me — he jokingly acted like there was a problem for a moment before finishing the job perfectly. It made the experience even better.

If you need keys made or locksmith services, I highly recommend A1 Locksmith Security and Sales. Honest businesses like this deserve recognition and support.

Thank you Jamal, Ken, and David for your integrity and great service!

Chris and Ken both waa awesome. Customer service A1. I had a quote from another locksmith to have a key fob programmed for my 2008 cadillac dts it was $400. Outrageously high. I called A1 and received a quote for $74. Went into the store and was greatest by both Ken and Chris. They helped me out and I even got an extra key made while I was there for the car. Key and Key fob was not even half the price I was quoted... these guys need a raise they made me feel very welcomed. If you need work done try out the Arlington location I am sure you will see why I gave them 5 stars.. keep up the great work guys

A-1 Locksmith on Cooper St in Arlington was very helpful. I worked with Chris Barham. One of the managers regarding marine boat ignition key replacement working to find correct blank that would work after discussion and looking online at the store special ordered a few key blanks to bring back for cutting. After I received the key blanks from the supplier it was determined they most likely would not work and Chris provided a few other options from the store to try and was fair with his pricing and service. I tested them out at my boat and they worked and I was able to return the key blanks back to the original supplier. I had purchased online. I’ll be a repeat customer because of the customer service and knowledge of employees at A1 locksmith.

Chris was amazing! He programmed my replacement Honda key FOB in around 10 minutes! They initially quoted me 120 over the phone but they had to use a different piece of equipment and they dropped the price to 95! Can you believe there are honest businesses these days that actually lower prices instead of raising them every time!? I have never been here before but A-1 is now my first call for anything locksmithing :).

Came here about 6 weeks ago to get a metal copy key (transponder)for my Chevrolet Tahoe was charged around 12. Came back today for the exact same service guy tried to charge me 60$. Not coming back here. Nice guy at the front but prices way up. Ace hardware will do it for 10$

Frequently Asked Questions

The shop can duplicate many common house and office keys and stock popular blanks. Availability for specialty keys can vary by brand and profile. It is best to bring the original key or call ahead with the make and model to confirm.

Rekeying is often possible when the lock is in usable condition and can be more cost-effective than replacement. The team can assess your current hardware and advise if rekeying or a new lockset makes more sense. Bring in the cylinder or schedule a visit to review your options.

The Arlington shop is open Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The store is closed on Sundays. Hours can change on holidays, so calling ahead is recommended.

Many sticking or hard-to-turn locks can be repaired with cleaning, rekeying, or minor parts replacement. If the hardware is worn beyond repair, the team can suggest compatible replacements. Bring the lock or schedule a visit for an evaluation.

Call the Arlington number to discuss the door count, lock types, and any key control needs. Sharing photos of the hardware and door labels helps speed up accurate pricing. A brief site visit may be recommended for larger or mixed-hardware properties.
