Maina Gouseinova on CAR KEY PRO

We scheduled to copy a car key fob and agreed on a price. The interaction was all on email. I had booked time off work, got someone to watch my kids, borrowed a car as we were told to drop off the vehicle. We were quoted 395+ tax. After the job was completed the guy asks for 100$ more. I showed him the email but all he could say was that it was a miscommunication. I dont know who I was emailing but even if your staff made a mistake the guy wouldn't budge on the price even after being asked to meet in the middle.

Not impressed with the customer service of this place. We had an agreement. Should of just honored it.

Vitaly was incredible.

I recently had my vehicle compromised and needed a rekey asap, Vitaly got me in that day and fixed for the next. With stellar service and photos showing how everything went, couldn’t be more satisfied.

Heavily recommend !!

This isn't the first time we've turned to Vitaly for help. He and his team are highly skilled professionals. Honestly, I'm not sure I know anyone smarter than Vitaly. When I bring my car to them, I'm always confident that no matter how serious the problem, they'll fix it. Thank you for your work and the invaluable help you provide me every time.

We were stranded in Kelowna recently due to our (only) key fob getting wet. Vitaly an Igor stayed until 9:30 pm on Friday to get us back on road to Saskatchewan. Very professional and knowledgable.

Unfortunately I have to update my 5 star review based on my recent experience here.

I previously gave Car Key Pro 5 stars, but unfortunately my last visit was beyond disappointing. I took my truck in with squeaky brakes, figuring it needed new pads. I was called that afternoon and told it had wheel bearing issues on both rear tires, and that they didn’t yet know what the squeaking was but they needed to keep it until the next afternoon to fix the bearings. I mentioned that I needed it for work the next morning, but he was insistent that it was a safety issue as a wheel could come off, and as it was already on the hoist they wanted to keep it and start work on it. The only reason I agreed to leave it overnight was because I was worried about the wheel safety issue. I let him know I would have to rent a uhaul to work the next morning.

The next day he called me mid morning to tell me he had made a mistake and mixed my car issue up with another similar car. The other car had the wheel bearing issue and mine just needed all the brake pads replaced. When I went to pick up the vehicle I asked about a discount on account of the fact his mistake had cost me $100 for a uhaul. He argued that he wasn’t going to give any discount as he had just mixed up the cars, that mine was cheaper than he quoted as it wasn’t the wheel bearings after all, and that I had needed to leave it overnight as I had no brake pads anyway (I would have booked in for another day for the brake pads, they were not at emergency/safety issue level).

He also told me that the brake pads had been put on incorrectly previously. I reminded him that they had in fact replaced my pads less than 5 months ago, so he went to talk to the mechanic and when he returned, he stated that the right side was clipped so it must be a caliper issue and they need to be replaced. Why wasn’t this caliper issue picked up on when they were replacing the pads?? Shouldn’t that be the first thing checked if you see uneven wear? I find that very concerning, and it just topped off an already horrible experience. Now I will likely have to get the brake pads replaced again in a very short time, along with the caliper, costing me even more money unnecessarily.

Mistakes happen, I get that. It’s not about the mistake, but what the business will do in response to that. If you make a mistake that costs your customer money, any place with decent customer service would try to rectify that. Instead I was met with a rude, dismissive response and won’t be returning here.

Previous review - 5 stars
I've had issues with my ignition previously - the key struggles to turn sometimes so I can't turn the car on. A few months ago, I took it into Nissan after having the problem all week - that morning it took 30 minutes for me to even be able to get it started and over to Nissan. They were very quick to tell me they couldn't find an issue ( it has been off and on, but as I use the truck for work everyday, not an issue I can afford to risk happening again and again). This week, it started happening again so I took it in to Car Key Pro and not only were they all lovely to deal with, they managed to fix it the next day by rebuilding it. Such great service, and I have been so happy today with how smoothly my key turns in the lock - it hasn't been that smooth in as long as I remember, even on the days it wasn't causing me issues. I also had my brakes booked into my local garage the next day, but Car Key Pro were able to do them for me that same afternoon too. I would highly recommend the team here, and will be back!
