Advantage just cut me a new key and programmed at new fob for my Honda. Excellent service and efficient. Previously used to cut new house keys. Price was very reasonable for both. Great to have this service in Multnomah Village.
UPDATE: I filed a consumer complaint with the OR Department of Justice and recently received a response; they have sent a copy of my complaint to the business. I also came across a review posted several years ago (Google listing on Durham Rd) that is very similar to my experience. I’ve attached a screenshot.**************I had a terrible experience with Advantage Lock & Key. I brought in a lock on Nov 10th to have a key made, but the employee, who turned out to be the manager, told me it was “too labor intensive” and sold me two replacement locks, assuring me they would work. They didn’t.I spent the next several days trying to get help, calling ahead and showing up well before their posted closing time, but the shop was repeatedly closed early. On Nov 14th an employee returned to the shop after I called, but he said only the manager (who had sold me the locks) could approve refunds. I asked the employee to contact the manager, reluctantly he did, and only the unopened lock was refunded.When I returned on Nov 17th to speak with the manager, he refused to come out, claiming he was “on a call.” Later that day, I discovered the business had blocked my personal cell number. When I tried calling from my company phone, that number was blocked too.Shortly after my last attempt to contact them, someone from the business posted a Craigslist ad offering free Blazers tickets and used my personal cell number as the contact. I received multiple unwanted calls and texts. After I confronted them—and after my manager called from his own phone—the ad was removed, “deleted by its author”. I have screenshot documentation, with time stamps, of both the ad and call logs to back up this claim.The timing of everything strongly suggests this was retaliation. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I would not recommend this business to anyone
I went in here today for a quick house key copy after the machine in Safeway was going to charge me $12 for one key! The gentleman working here was super kind and nice to talk to and helped me out so quick and charged me a couple bucks for the key. It was a short visit and an easy job but it was great to have a friendly human do it vs a machine that’s just trying to rip people off. I will be back :)
Phenomenal service. Needed a new key cut and programmed for my Subaru Outback. Subaru had already informed me they ‘probably wouldn’t be able to do it, but would happily try’ for 3x the amount I paid here. They went above and beyond with the service to ensure I was taken care of. Hopefully I don’t need services again, but I would never consider any other option in Portland other than this store. Highly recommended.
